Investing in societal equity and building trust 

Guided by our purpose to build trust in society and solve important problems, our community of solvers know we have an obligation to the communities in which we live and work. At a time in which establishing trust is more important than ever, we’ve worked to not only support our communities directly but to empower our people to promote initiatives that align with their personal values. As we work to build that trust, we recognize that collaborating with other responsible business leaders striving for similar goals helps to benefit society as a whole.

Taking action in our communities 

We’re working hard, through our own investments and by enabling our people to take action, to bring equity and opportunity to our communities. Here are some of PwC’s initiatives:

We offer our people up to 40 hours to use their professional skills to tackle social challenges through (virtual and in-person) problem-solving workshops, pro bono projects, serving as board directors, mentoring and other nonprofit support. 

Skills for Society

Access Your Potential, our $125 million investment to support 25,000 Black and Latino/Hispanic college students, aims to create more opportunities for students by providing access to high-demand digital and career readiness training and upskilling, mentorship and pathways to start their careers.

Co-founded by PwC, CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion™ continues to be the largest business-led initiative to advance DEI in the workplace. Since 2017, 2,500+ of CEOs and university presidents have pledged to create more inclusive workplaces for the 21+ million employees they represent. 

CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion

In FY21, PwC and hundreds of other organizations came together to launch CEO Action for Racial Equity, a first-of-its-kind, business-led initiative that mobilizes top talent and resources from CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion signatory organizations to advance public policies and corporate engagement strategies designed to improve the lives and circumstances of the 47M+ Black Americans across the country.

PwC Charitable Foundation 

For over 20 years, the PwC Charitable Foundation has invested in emerging solutions to society’s greatest challenges in education and humanitarianism as well as the people of PwC in times of need. These continued efforts to drive equity at scale enabled the Foundation to reach a major milestone in 2023 of nearly $210 million in grants and investments given since 2001.
